My name is Adam Hegstrom and I'm the Marketing Coordinator here at Will Leather Goods. I'm here today to tell you about the coolest experience I've had in my life. Growing up, I was into baseball. Not just kind of into it, I lived and breathed the sport; even though I was extremely mediocre at it. I think what I loved the most was the team aspect and the baseball community. Growing up playing Little League was incredible! Every weekend the local ballfields would be packed with all the kids from my city, and it seemed like the whole community would come out to watch, hangout, and enjoy a dog.

 

 

My baseball career ended my senior year of high school, but my love for the sport has lived on. After graduating college, I was approached by one of my buddies who played college ball at the University of Oregon with an unbelievable cool idea. Him and one of his coaches wanted to find a way to impact the lives of less fortunate kids around the world using baseball. Harmony World Projects was born from that idea. They approached me about a year ago with the idea and I was instantly locked in, and was brought on as the Marketing Director.

 

 

This summer from August 7th to August 14th, we made our inaugural trip to Roatan, Honduras, a small island roughly 30 miles off the coast. We did the best we could to prepare, but had every intention to go into it with an open mind and a willingness to make halftime adjustments. And honestly, once we got there, things fell perfectly into place and we were able to identify four pillars to focus on; athletics, health, education, and conservation.

We ran baseball clinics at the Field of Dreams, the local ball field every night of the week and encouraged everyone to show up regardless of age or skill level. We were absolutely blown away by the response we got. The first night we had close to 40 kids show up ranging from  8-18 years old.  We brought with us a bunch of donated cleats, gloves, bats and helmets which turned out to be essential as almost half the kids showed up ready to play barefoot. The camps ran great with no issues, with more and more kids showing up every night from all over the island. After talking with some of the dads/influential members of the community, it became clear that these kids were dying for stuff to do. It didn’t matter whether it was baseball, soccer, volleyball or a game of tag, they just wanted to play.

 

 

We ran the camps in the evenings to avoid the heat of the day. On average the temperature was around 98 degrees Fahrenheit with close to 90% humidity. During our down time, we hung out with the local Non-profit SOL (School of Life) International at their community center playing and interacting with the kids in their neighborhoods which was extremely eye opening. You go from being in a somewhat resorty area, to directly across the street where things feel extremely 3rd world.

 

 

 

Along the way I carried the Silas Backpack, Classic Passport Case, and the Tradesman Front Pocket Wallet. The Silas makes for the perfect flight companion as it is large enough to hold your laptop and other airport essentials, but small enough to conveniently slide underneath your seat on the plane for easy in-flight access (its all leather silhouette is also quite the conversation piece and was asked about it at every airport). The Classic Passport Case only made appearances when going through customs, but it was an amazing accessory for keeping my physical passport safe. I also found the internal pockets to be an awesome place to store my boarding pass, and customs forms so everything was in one place. The name says it all for the Tradesmen Front Pocket Wallet. It’s slim silhouette was perfect for carrying in my front pocket to help deter the chances of it being stolen.

 

 

All-in-all we could not have asked or anticipated for a better first trip! It was so refreshing to be with all these kids who despite their circumstances carried around a big smile and contagious spirit wherever they went. Never focusing on the things, they didn’t have, but rather finding the joy in the things they did. We have already started planning our next trip back, where we hope to install an official Little League where the kids can play together and compete.

Our lifetime guarantee is a warranty against defects in materials (leather and hardware such as snaps, zippers, buckles, rivets, etc.) and workmanship. Our leather, as with all natural materials, will occasionally have unique characteristics such as: small scars, creases and variations in the color and are not considered defects. Validated warranty repairs are repaired or replaced at no charge.

Due to the nature of leather and vintage materials our warranty does not cover natural wear and tear from daily love. Worn edges or corners, natural fading and softening of materials is an expected occurrence.  We guarantee the foundation of our product will hold your belongings safely. We find that patches and natural wear are a part of the story that unfolds as your product grows with you. One of a kind, Vintage and Found product may need to be patched or stitch due to the nature of vintage material. We charge between $35 and $75 depending on natural wear and tear or can recommend a local cobbler to expedite repair.

Exclusions and Limitations include shoes, hats, furniture, watches, jewelry, clothing, home goods, vintage product and FINAL SALE merchandise.

Maintain your favorite leather pieces regularly to ensure soft and supple leather. Leather can be cleaned and restored with a regimen of leather care products designed to clean, condition and protect. Leather Care can help maintain your product longer. Please see our Leather Care page for more information. We recommend conditioning your leather at a minimum of every 6 months. Learn more about how to care for your leather.

If you are in a dryer (hot or cold) climate please condition your product as soon as it feels less supple, dull or faded. Vegetable tanned leather when conditioned should feel slightly oiled and look rich. Similar to the nature of skin it needs to be moisturized as soon as it feels dry. We charge $25 + shipping for conditioning or head to a store for onsite conditioning for Free and the full Will Leather Goods experience.

Any warranty claims associated with the below list are not considered manufacture defects and are not covered within our Lifetime Guarantee policy. At the discretion of Will Leather Goods, a fee may be incurred for repair.

1 Year Limited Warranty Exemptions

The following have a limited 1 year warranty that is valid from the date of purchase. At the discretion of Will Leather Goods, a fee may be incurred to the user to repair the merchandise if the warranty claims does not fall within the 1 year timeframe.

All Warranty Repair requests must be processed and validated by our Warranty Team.

Have your receipt?
Please include it in your email request for return or bring it with you to any of our stores. This way we can reimburse your original purchase price to either your original method of payment or as a merchandise credit, or use it to help exchange your item.

Product Care Information

We highly recommend using leather care treatment to maintain and preserve your leather products: Product Care

Our wax coated canvas is coated with paraffin which makes this water-resistant, but not waterproof. If your canvas product gets wet, we recommend you let it air dry thoroughly in a warm dry place. If at any time your canvas has scratches or marks, these can typically be reduced by using a hair dryer on medium heat to help the wax soften and absorb back into the canvas.

By purchasing products from Will Leather Goods you agree to the terms in our Lifetime Warranty. Will Leather Goods reserves to right to alter, edit or cancel our Lifetime Warranty without notice.

The general rule of thumb for our belts is to go up two sizes from your pants size. Please note that sizing may vary depending on the cut and brand of pants.
