Industrious workers at sari factories in India would take home the extra scraps of fabric and build them into panels, then use a “Kantha” stitch to make quilts – a necessity of life used for bedding and warmth. On a trip to India many years ago when Will studied with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Will fell in love with Kantha quilts; bringing one home to his wife which is still used today in their home. On a more recent trip to India to practice meditation, Will found a resource of vintage kantha quilts. Bringing about 200 of them home, Will knew they were as beautiful on the front as on the back, and decided to design them into a reversible tote – soft and drapey, but each seam reinforced with eco-friendly, vegetable tanned leather to ensure the end-product is as durable as it is beautiful. Because each piece is inherently unique, Will invites each of you to Discover your Will by selecting a bag which calls to you – to celebrate your individuality.
